Pai Gow Poker is a current game with old origins. Founded on the old Chinese tile game and the modern American adaptation of poker, Pai Gow poker bands together the east with the wild west in a wonderful game for starting gamblers.

Pai Gow is a poker game that pits the gambler vs. the dealer, unlike the majority of other poker games that gamblers wager with other gamblers. By wagering against the dealer, starting players do not have to fret about other, more skillful players taking their moolla.

Pai Gow is played with 53 cards; the customary 52-card common deck and a single joker. The player is given 7 cards faces showing and the croupier is given 7 cards face down.

A five card hand and a 2 card hand have to be put together from the seven cards dealt, the 5 card hand has to be higher than the 2 card hand. To succeed, a player is required to have both of his hand totals to be larger than the casino’s.
