Online poker has become globally famous as of late, with televised championships and celebrity poker game shows. Its universal appeal, though, stretches back in fact a bit farther than its TV scores. Over the years several variants on the original poker game have been developed, including some games that are not in fact poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is one of these particular games. Regardless of the name, Caribbean stud poker is more closely related to twenty-one than traditional poker, in that the players bet against the dealer rather than each other. The succeeding hands, are the traditional poker hands. There is no concealment or different kinds of boondoggle. In Caribbean stud poker, you are required to pay up prior to the dealer saying "No more wagers." At that point, both you and the bank and of course every one of the other gamblers receive 5 cards each. Once you have observed your hand and the casino’s initial card, you have to in turn make a call wager or bow out. The call bet’s value is akin to your original wager, indicating that the stakes will have doubled. Surrendering means that your bet goes instantly to the house. After the bet comes the face off. If the bank does not have ace/king or greater, your bet is returned, including an amount on par with the original bet. If the dealer does have ace/king or better, you succeed if your hand is greater than the casino’s hand. The bank pays out money even with your original bet and set expectations on your call bet. These expectations are:
- Equal for a pair or high card
- 2-1 for 2 pairs
- 3-1 for 3 of a kind
- 4-1 for a straight
- five to one for a flush
- seven to one for a full house
- twenty to one for a 4 of a kind
- fifty to one for a straight flush
- 100-1 for a royal flush
